Grief’s a Stalker
Grief stalks me,
Uninvited it follows.
Relentless and intrusive,
Straight into the hollows
Of my heart.
When will it part?
The answer is clear.
Grief always near.
They say it’s love,
With no place to go.
I cry out to God,
To rescue me from the low.
His presence giving reprieve,
My daily tasks not soon to leave.
How do I carry on with life,
Grief stabbing like a fiery knife.
Hitting my heart with strife.
Never missing,
Grief and sorrow kissing.
I fight this new battle,
Shaking me like a rattle.
Grief plays with me,
Like I’m some kind of toy,
Is this a ploy?
Tries taking me down,
But I remember His crown.
God’s promise is my why,
He parts fog into a clear sky.
Grief enters when I least expect,
God gives peace,
a promise kept.
This love trapped inside,
With no place to go…
Giving to God,
all to Him I owe.
My daughter passed away from this place,
She’s now with Him and has seen His face.
All love sent to Him from my weary heart,
My girl, fully restored, since we did part.
Grief may come and grief may stay,
But I’ll always choose to follow His Way.
I’ll see my child soon because He says I can,
A message to grief- Watch and see His heavenly plan!
