The Christmas Cry
God feels my pain because He lost His Son,
The plan unfolded and it was done.
Losing a child, after watching them grow,
Will take even the Almighty down to a low.
God ripped the temple curtain,
as the Earth massively shook,
His face turned from Jesus;
He could not even look.
Although part of His plan,
to save a sinner like me,
The grief was immense
as His child died on that tree.
My daughter now with Jesus,
as we celebrate His birth,
She’s dancing in Heaven,
knowing her true worth.
The Christmas cry feels painful
coming deep from my soul,
My child gone from my life,
I’ll never feel whole.
There is hope inside knowing
I will embrace her again,
But it’s agonizing waiting and not knowing when.
Father, thank you for the assurance and peace from above,
As this Christmas I will focus on your Fatherly love.
The birth of the Savior that promises all,
We’ll see loved ones again if we answer Your call.
